save pittwater
from
northern beaches council
overdevelopment
If Pittwater is to be saved from Northern Beaches Council over development all residents need to come together and have one voice - that is to save Pittwater as the new 2022 LEP/DCP will not.
Pittwater Local MP Rob Stokes –
What needs to happen –
1. To call for a moratorium on any more planning proposals (including spot rezonings) in Pittwater Ward.
2. The new LEP/DCP to adopt existing Pittwater LEP and DCP provisions including maintaining the existing building height controls and character statements embedded in those provisions.
3. That objectives and provisions pertaining to urban design, tree canopy / landscape conservation, sustainability (ESD) and place improvements be tightened to assist with compliance.
4. That Council strengthen planning and environmental compliance including Council's tree removal and replanting policies and procedures.
5. Council consider establishing representative "precinct committees" like those in Randwick and North Sydney.
6. Progress a serious broad community conversation around a De-merger Vote at the next local government election or sooner possibly being incorporated into the State Election next year.
