Local Australia Day Awards Winners
One resident in Narrabeen and one in Mona Vale were both recognised in the same category of Outstanding Community Service, however there were none north of Mona Vale leading to a Facebook Post of "Not one resident north of Mona Vale recognised. Pittwater the unrecognised area? Except when they want to build?".

Miranda Korzy I wonder how many nominations we had from up here. Must make sure we nominate people next year.
Dave Murray There was a amended motion at November's meeting (I think) to have a Councillor workshop sometime this year to determine the future of Australia Day celebrations. I recall that issues up for discussion would include where the ceromonies are held (i.e. returning the Citizenship ceromony to Newport) and also to potentionally have Citizen of the Year awards for each of the five wards. Personally, I support both these inititives. Vincent De Luca moved the initial motion so I expect that he can keep the pressure on and keep us updated on whats happening and how we can assist him.
Will Brown Absolutely agree; having my citizenship ceremony on Newport Beach in 2012 was one of the greatest moments of my life. My entire patrol from the surf club cheered me on and I was able to get onto the beach and join my patrol for the rest of the morning shift. Glen Street is hardly an iconic location and hasn't got great parking.
Dave Murray Great story Will Brown. You should send it as a letter to the Manly Daily
Will Brown Wouldn't waste my time. Absolute rag for flogging houses, masquerading as a newspaper.
Dave Murray The letters are still a good way to get the message out
Vicky Brown They never responded to my email, which I asked to be copied to all councillors Vincent De Luca.
Vincent De Luca Nothing has come to me. Can you please send to me [email protected]
Tony Backhouse On the #CapitalInvestments Metro Strategy Map everywhere North of Long Reef is down as #TerraNulliusIncognito
