refit & RETAIN mona vale hospital main building for an alternate community use
- do not demolish -
The main building of Mona Vale Hospital should be retained, NOT DEMOLISHED.
The following are suggestions for retaining the Main Building of Mona Vale Hospital put forward by a local resident.
1) Since the Government doesn’t want the Mona Vale Hospital Main Building the community will take over the looking after of it.
2) The local community is to set up a Local Hospital Board.
3) The NSW Government to give the Main Building to the Local Hospital Board.
4) What would have cost the Government 10 to 20 million dollars in demolition costs is to be put into a maintenance fund to be invested and managed by the Board.
5) The Board then uses this for long term maintenance of the building.
6) The building is to then be leased for Public Purpose, including back to the Government as necessary, with priority leasing to the NSW Government.
Sounds like a ‘Plan’ doesn’t it ?
See also the Reports obtained using the GIPA Act that show how the building can be repaired to address the years of neglect the State Government has allowed to happen.
