- BICYCLE PARKING BAY RAIL DAMAGED -
NOT REPAIRED FOR “OFFICIAL OPENING” OF CAR PARK
NOT REPAIRED FOR “OFFICIAL OPENING” OF CAR PARK
One of the curved rails for the Bicycle Parking Bays was observed to be damaged 27 January 2015 with the photo below taken on that day showing the damage, which had occurred, sometime prior.
It was surprising that in the next 24 days leading up to the “Official Opening” the rail was not repaired.
The next photo shows the rail is still damaged 2 days after the “Official Opening” of the car park.

It is likely this rail was damaged by a vehicle reversing into it from one of the car spaces on the opposite side of the aisle given that the rail is quite low and the driver would not have seen it.
Apart from the damaged rail it is likely the vehicle was also damaged which is unfortunate.
It is assumed this will be an ongoing problem at this location and concern is also raised if bicycles are parked in the bays they could also be damaged.

Another week goes by. It's now 33 days since this was first observed damaged and it is still not repaired.
